The following texts on Arthur Tress were written at different times and on
different occasions. By offering views of Tress' work at various stages
of his career they also constitute a condensed history of the critical recep-
tion of the Tress oeuvre.

The Richard Lorenz text was written for a Tress retrospective that toured
the Far East as »Fantastic Journey« in 1994-2000, then reprinted in the ca-
talog of the retrospectice exhibition also called »Fantastice Voyage« at the
Corcoran Gallery in Washington, D.C. in 2001.

The texts by Duane Michals, Michel Tournier and A. D. Coleman saw their
first publication in »Theater of the Mind« [Dobbs Ferry: Morgan and Morgan,
1976], while the Freddy Langer text accompanied a Tress portfolio in the
color supplement of the German daily newspaper »Frankfurter Allgemeine
Zeitung«.
